Pekiti-Tirsia Kali is a style specific to Filipino martial arts. Pekiti-Tirsia Kali was founded in 1897 and is the system of the Tortal family. The sole heir and guardian of this system is Leo Gaje. Pekiti-Tirsia is strictly a combat-oriented system, as opposed to a sport-focused fighting style. It is a fighting system that focuses on edged, impact, and improvised weapons. PTK has been adopted as one of the preferred combative training programs by several elite military and law enforcement units around the world. It is considered a highly lethal method of self-defense.-Wikipedia
All of the weapons.
Pekiti is blade based, so we largely focus on short sword and knife. We also train with: Spear, stick, tomahawk, empty hands, grappling, and combinations of weapons like two knives, two swords, two sticks, stick and knife and sword and knife to name a few.
Blackbird Training Group's focus on practicality and fighting spirit with weapons make us an obvious choice for people who want to learn weapon based fighting and help us stand out against other martial arts schools. Most traditional arts only train weapons to higher ranked students. At our school you will have a training weapon in your hand day 1. You will learn the attributes of a fighter, alongside the skills and attributes to make you successful in sparring or in the real world.
Lamont Glass started Blackbird almost 20 years ago. His instructors included Leo Gaje and Jared Whiongi among many, many others from seminars and classes across the country.
